Reconstitution Supplies Checklist

Everything you need to safely reconstitute a peptide

Bacteriostatic Water

Item 1

Diluent used to reconstitute the peptide vial. Contains 0.9% benzyl alcohol to prevent bacterial growth.

Do NOT use sterile water for injection — it lacks a preservative.

Insulin Syringes (U-100)

Item 2

Used to draw and inject the reconstituted dose. 1 mL / 100 units is most common.

Match the syringe size to your dose volume for accuracy.

Reconstitution Syringe (larger)

Item 3

Optional larger syringe (e.g. 3 mL) to transfer bacteriostatic water into the vial cleanly.

Helpful for high-volume reconstitution.

Alcohol Prep Pads (70% isopropyl)

Item 4

Wipe the vial rubber stopper and injection site before use to maintain sterility.

Let the alcohol fully evaporate before piercing the stopper.

Mixing Needles (18G–22G)

Item 5

Larger bore needles used to draw bacteriostatic water into and out of the vial without coring the stopper.

Never inject with these — swap to an insulin syringe.

Sharps Container

FDA-cleared container for safe disposal of used needles and syringes.

Never recap or throw loose needles in household trash.

Sterile Gloves

Maintain a clean environment and reduce contamination risk during reconstitution.

Optional but recommended for best hygiene.

Vial Crimper / Decapper

Removes the metal cap from multi-dose vials if reconstituting from bulk raw powder vials.

Only needed for certain research-grade vials.

Clean Workspace / Surface

A sanitized, flat area to lay out supplies and perform reconstitution.

Wipe down with alcohol before starting.

Allow the peptide to dissolve fully — most vials need 1–3 minutes with gentle swirl.

Do NOT shake the vial; swirl gently to avoid denaturing the peptide.

Label the reconstituted vial with peptide name, concentration, date, and reconstitution details.

Helps track potency and expiry once mixed.

Storage (Refrigerator)

Most reconstituted peptides require refrigeration (36–46 °F / 2–8 °C) to remain stable.
